Which face serum to choose in Morocco?

A serum is a concentrated treatment with a light texture. It goes on clean skin, after toner and before cream. It does not replace your cream: it delivers a higher dose of a targeted active, while the cream protects and seals in hydration. The right method is to start from your main need (dark spots, pores, wrinkles, dehydration, texture), then choose the active that addresses it. Our seven serums are vegan, cruelty-free, free from alcohol and dyes, and dermatologically tested.

By skin concern

  • Dull complexion, dark spots, lack of radiance: the Sérum Éclaircissant à la Vitamine C combines 5% vitamin C, vitamin E and licorice extract to even out the complexion and revive radiance. Apply it in the morning, always under sun protection.
  • Enlarged pores, shine, combination to oily skin: the 5% niacinamide pore-refining serum combines niacinamide, zinc PCA and witch hazel to refine the look of pores and control excess sebum, morning and/or evening.
  • Wrinkles, fine lines, uneven skin texture: the renewing retinol serum, softened by squalane and jojoba oil, is used in the evening only, two to three times a week at first.
  • Loss of firmness: the peptide and phyto-collagen anti-aging serum (5% phyto-collagen, peptides, centella asiatica, aloe vera) is an oil-free formula to apply morning and evening, on the face and neck.
  • Tight, dehydrated skin: the 2% hyaluronic acid hydrating serum hydrates on several levels thanks to multi-weight hyaluronic acid, completed by ceramides and panthenol.
  • Rough texture, blackheads, dull complexion: the AHA BHA serum exfoliates the surface with AHAs and unclogs pores with BHA (salicylic acid), two to three evenings a week.
  • Tired skin, lack of bounce: the 10% ginseng renewing serum combines ginseng, hyaluronic acid and centella to revitalize the skin, morning and evening, and also works as a radiance boost before makeup.

According to your skin type

Oily or combination skin: start with niacinamide, then add AHA + BHA exfoliation once your skin is used to it. Oily skin can also lack water: hyaluronic acid, very light, suits it.

Dry or dehydrated skin: focus on hyaluronic acid and ginseng, then seal with a rich cream in the evening.

Mature skin: retinol in the evening and peptides morning and evening form the base of an anti-aging routine. Hyaluronic acid completes it with comfort.

Sensitive skin: always do a test in the crook of the elbow before first use, introduce one active at a time and space out exfoliants.

Vitamin C serum in Morocco: how to choose it

Vitamin C is the most sought-after radiance active in Morocco, because the sun quickly marks the complexion. Three criteria matter. First the form: a stable vitamin C, like the derivative used in our 5% vitamin C serum, is gentler than pure ascorbic acid and better suited to daily use. Then the concentration: a moderate dose is ideal to start without tingling. Finally the supporting actives: vitamin E protects, licorice extract helps fade the look of dark spots, cucumber adds comfort. Apply it in the morning, as it prepares the skin for the day, and always finish with sun protection.

How to read a concentration

A higher percentage is not always a better choice. A well-formulated active, at a suitable dose and used every day, gives more results than an active that is too strong for the skin to tolerate. That is why we state the key actives of each serum (5% vitamin C, 5% niacinamide, 2% hyaluronic acid, 5% phyto-collagen, 10% ginseng) and advise introducing the strongest ones, retinol and exfoliants, gradually.

How to layer several serums

The order follows a simple rule: from the lightest to the thickest. After cleansing and the AHA + BHA exfoliating toner (on the evenings you use it), apply the lightest serum, let it absorb for a minute, then the second one. Two serums per time of day are plenty. Finish with cream, then sun protection in the morning.

  • Vitamin C and retinol: yes, at different times. Vitamin C in the morning, retinol in the evening.
  • Hyaluronic acid and another serum: hyaluronic acid goes on slightly damp skin and pairs with all our serums, for example with ginseng or peptides.
  • Niacinamide and vitamin C: vitamin C in the morning and niacinamide in the evening, or both in the morning with a few minutes between them.
  • AHA + BHA and retinol: never on the same evening. Alternate evenings to avoid tightness.

Morning and evening serum routine

In the morning

  1. Gentle cleanser.
  2. One serum for your need: vitamin C for radiance, hyaluronic acid for hydration, niacinamide for shine.
  3. A cream, for example the alpha-arbutin dark spot & radiance cream.
  4. SPF 50 sun protection, essential under the Moroccan sun.

In the evening

  1. Cleansing.
  2. Exfoliating toner, two to three evenings a week.
  3. A treatment serum: retinol or AHA + BHA on alternate evenings, peptides, niacinamide or ginseng on the other evenings.
  4. The anti-aging night repair cream to seal everything in.

To avoid putting it together yourself, our complete skincare routines bring the right serums together in the right order, at a routine price.

Our tips for using a serum well

  • Three to four drops are enough for the whole face.
  • Introduce one new active at a time and watch your skin for two weeks before adding another.
  • Allow several weeks of regular use before judging a serum.
  • Use the bottle within 12 months of opening (12M symbol on the packaging).
  • As a precaution, retinol products are not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding: ask your doctor for advice.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions about face serums

Which vitamin C serum to choose as a beginner?

A stable, moderately dosed vitamin C, like our 5% serum, gentler than pure ascorbic acid. Apply it in the morning on clean skin, before your cream, and finish with sun protection.

Does serum go on before or after cream?

Before. Serum, lighter and more concentrated, goes on clean skin, then the cream seals in its actives and hydration. In the morning, sun protection comes last.

How many serums can you use at the same time?

Two per time of day are enough. Apply the lightest first and let each one absorb for a minute.

Can you use retinol and the AHA + BHA serum on the same evening?

No. These two strong actives are used on alternate evenings. If your skin feels tight, space out the applications.

Which serum to choose for oily skin?

The 5% niacinamide serum helps refine the look of pores and control shine. The AHA + BHA serum, two to three evenings a week, smooths texture and unclogs pores. Hyaluronic acid, very light, also suits oily skin.
